About Al Cholo’s Bakery
At its core, Al Cholo's Bakery remains a family affair, with various members and friends contributing to its success over the years. The Cholos have instilled a sense of pride and work ethic, inspiring subsequent generations to pursue their aspirations while honoring their heritage.
Beyond its role as a purveyor of Caribbean-inspired delights, the bakery has actively supported community initiatives and extended assistance to those in need. Myrle's open-door policy welcomes all, often providing donations to anyone in need of something to eat.
Following Al Cholo's passing in 2020, his son Andre, affectionately known as Junior, has assumed responsibility for the bakery's operations. Together with Myrle, they are dedicated to upholding Albert's legacy and nurturing the bakery's relationship with the community.
As Al Cholo's Bakery commemorates 47 years of service in 2024, it stands as a testament to resilience, family values, and community spirit. With gratitude for the unwavering support of patrons, both old and new, the Cholo family looks forward to continuing their tradition of excellence and fostering connections within the Bronx community.
